Congratulations Jamie!
Jamie Stone’s short film “Skyborn” is one of five finalists in the Foreign Films Category at the Student Academy Awards in LA.
We are delighted for him. The results are going to be announced in mid-May.
Macropolis Goes Into Production @ Flickerpix
Flickerpix, who have just joined the Jumper roster of directors, begin production on their new short film MACROPOLIS next week. The animated short film is part of the Cultural Olympiad running up to the 2012 Olympic Games this summer.
MACROPOLIS is the story of two toys discarded from the factory production line. Coming to life, they decide to escape and are determined to rejoin the other toys. When running after the factory delivery van, they become lost and find themselves surrounded by the unfamiliar, urban, big city. Initially overwhelmed, they begin to explore, play and re-interpret everyday objects through their very unique perspectives in this world of giant humans.
The film will be shot using a combination of animation models and an outdoor time-lapse shoot. Below, Joel Simon (the film’director) talks a little bit more about how he came up with the idea and how he is going to shoot the film.
Merry Christmas from Everyone @ Jumper
Ok that’s it! Leaving the office now, and officially finishing up for 2011. What a year!!!! Happy Christmas to all of our brilliant Clients and Suppliers. And here’s to a prosperous 2012.
To put a smile on your face, have a look at this. Ho Ho Woes is a piece about the plight of chubby, white haired, older gentlemen in the lead up to the festive period. Directed by Sophie, shot by Trevor Whelan and edited by Sean King in Piranha Bar. It is a little project that Sophie did for Bloom.
Rihanna Belfast Shoot
So in September we line produced this music video for Rihanna’s latest single “We Found Love” featuring Calvin Harris. The video was directed by Melina Matsoukas (whose credits include Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez) and produced by PRETTYBIRD.
It was a bit of roller coaster of a shoot for many reasons, not least of which was all of the publicity surrounding it, but definitely an amazing experience for everyone involved. Something that all of the cast and crew will remember for a long time.
ICAD Upstarts & Clockhead 3D
Sophie Merry has been a very busy little bee over the last few months. She has just finished work on her short film “Clockhead 3D”, which will premiere this weekend @Darklight 2011.
“Clockhead” is Ireland’s first live-action stereoscopic 3D short. Sophie worked on the project with Sigmedia (TCD). They will be doing a workshop as part of the festival on Friday 21st October @ 16:45 in the Factory. The official screening of the film will take place on Saturday 22 October at 1pm as part of the “New Indie Voices’” Programme.
Sophie has also just finished a little project with the ICAD Upstarts to advertise their upcoming Exhibition which will open on the 3rd of November at South Studios and will run until the 10th. The piece which is called “Best in Show” was written by Sam Moorhead and is directed by Sophie. It was a really fun project to do, and I still smile everytime I watch it. To watch it click here.
Silver Shark for Jumper
ASBOSLUTELY delighted that Jumper was awarded a Silver Shark at the Kinsale Shark Awards last weekend. Alan Friel was awarded a Silver for Best Direction for Lyric FM.
Luke Franklin was also shortlisted for Raidió na Gaeltachta. It’s our first year entering the main Shark Awards so we’re really proud of the two guys!!!!
RNaG sa Gleann (aka where’s the fada button on a Mac?)
So earlier this year, we finished our promo for Raidió na Gaeltachta, directed by Luke Franklin. A deadly job to work on from start to finish.
One of the main reasons it was so so special was that it was a very community driven project. From the start Raidió na Gaeltachta audience were invited to participate in the making of the promo. They ran a competition in May (Tá Siad ag Teacht) to choose a Gaelatcht community to be featured as the location. The competition ran over three weeks on the station, Facebook, the RTE website and Youtube. Raidió na Gaeltachta received entries from several Gaeltachts who wanted to take part.
Washed Up Love
“Washed Up Love”, Jumper’s third short film, went down really well at the Galway Film Fleadh last Saturday. There were laughs from start to finish! We were absolutely delighted with the reception, I don’t think we could have asked for more.
The film is directed and written by Dylan Cotter. It was produced as part of the Irish Film Board’s Short Shorts scheme. Read the full article »

Luke on Topps
So our lovely, talented, Luke Franklin, shot his debut campaign for the UK and Japanese markets earlier this year with Moxie Pictures. The client was Topps Confectionery. The result is three quirky commercials, that are unmistakably Luke.
Sliderz was all shot for real using an array of lipstick and hidden cameras tucked away in all corners of a leisure centre of West London. Read the full article »
