Jamie Stone
Jamie stone is a Scottish filmmaker whose multi award winning work encompasses documentaries, animation, and live-action drama. Originally trained in fine art, (filling the post of ‘Artist in Residence’ in Edinburgh’s Henderson Gallery) Jamie went on to study Film at the Edinburgh College of Art, graduating with a host of short films which went on to garner a Scottish BAFTA (plus four nominations), a student RTS award and The McLaren Prize at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. After graduating, Jamie branched out into directing documentaries, taking him to Kenya, Zambia, New York and Bangladesh; working for BBC Scotland and Channel 4. (His BBC Scotland documentary Scotland’s Brand New Bank was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA for ‘Best Current Affairs Documentary’. In 2012, Jamie completed a masters at the National Film and Television School where he made several imaginative shorts, including Sh-Boom! which was screened at BAFTA as part of the NFTS’s ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ event. His graduation film ‘Skyborn’, has been shortlisted for a Student Academy Award.
