Ava – tastic!

Our lovely Sophie Merry and GV2 Trinity College, have collaborated to create a unique dance experience for the upcoming BIORHYTHM exhibition in the Science Gallery.

Sophie has been working as a director and  dancer with GV2 (the Graphics Vision and Visualisation Lab in Trinity College) to create a digital avatar of herself, which will form part of an exhibit entitled “Biodancer”.

GV2, is an internationally renowned group dedicated to carrying out leading edge research in computer graphics, computer vision and all aspects of visual computing. The “Biodancer” team is led by Martin Prazak (a PhD student in GV2, performing research into human motion capture and synthesis) and Carol O’Sullivan (the Professor of Visual Computing in TCD and a leading researcher in the inter-disciplinary field of perception based graphics, real-time rendering, animation, human and crowd simulation).
